    Description:
Outstanding Scarce Percussion Remington New Model Police Revolver

This exceptional New Model Police Revolver was manufactured by Remington & Sons c. 1868. Remington manufactured an estimated total of 18,000 New Model Police revolvers between 1865 and 1873. These revolvers were scaled down versions of the Remington Belt and Navy Models. Most of the New Model Police Revolvers were either manufactured to chamber metallic cartridges or factory altered for cartridges. Original percussion New Model Police Revolvers like this example are scarce. The revolver has a high polish blue finish on the barrel, frame, loading lever and five-shot cylinder. The hammer is color casehardened with a knurled spur and the brass trigger guard is silver-plated. The revolver has a nickel-silver, half-moon front sight and sighting groove on the frame. The two-piece walnut grips have a 'piano' finish. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 MARCH 17, 1863/REMINGTON & SONS, ILION NEW YORK U.S.A./NEW MODEL" in three lines. The serial number, "7938" is stamped on the underside of the barrel and on the left side of the butt beneath the grips. "7938" is penciled on the inside of both grips. All of the visible serial numbers match. The assembly mark "II" is stamped on the rear face of the cylinder and the left side of the frame ahead of the serial number.

Excellent. The revolver is all original and retains 85% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish. Nearly all of the blue finish is present on the barrel, loading lever and five-shot cylinder. The frame has scattered patches of finish flaking from surface preparation which is typical of Remington percussion revolvers. The silver plating on the trigger guard is tarnished, but nearly all present. The grips are in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and nearly all of the piano finish. The rear face of the cylinder and percussion nipples show minimal flash pitting. This is very good example of a scarce percussion Remington New Model Pocket Revolver.

    Description:
Scarce Original Police Ordnance Company Class III/NFA Deactivated Model 6 Police Sub-Machine Gun

Originally designed and patented by Gordon Ingram in 1948 and later produced in very limited numbers by the Police Ordnance Company. This was one of the newer type submachine guns designed by Gordon Ingram. Later, he gained fame by designing the very successful MAC-10 and MAC 11 SMGs. Although this weapon is similar in outward appearance to the Thompson sub machine gun, it was very different, and uses a machine bolt and barrel assembly with various stamped sheet metal parts including the receiver similar to the MP40 and STEN submachine gun concept. It fired from an open bolt in a simple blow back manner with a fixed firing pin and a 2-stage trigger. If you pulled the trigger half way back it was a semi-automatic and all the way back it fired in full-automatic. The chamber is marked "INGRAM PATENTS PENDING/ POLICE ORDNANCE COMPANY/ LOS ANGELES CALIF. U.S.A./ M6 MILITARY CAL. .45 A.C.P.". It has a standard blade front and simple windage adjustable rear sights. It has a two-piece pistol grip/stock assembly with a horizontal forend. It is complete with one stick magazine and a British canvas sling. As noted, this SMG is registered as a Class III/NFA weapon. It has been deactivated by welding a plug in the chamber of the barrel and then welding the barrel collar to the front of the receiver.

Very fine as deactivated with 95% of the brushed blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The wood components are all in excellent condition with only a few minor handling marks. A very interesting SMG with very limited production. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), Fully Automatic Weapon that is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATF&E), it has been classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
